My Hometown
I’m from Summerside, P.E.I.
My Volleyball Story
My brother actually started playing volleyball before me, and I thought it was a cool sport.
My mom tried to get me into it, and I followed my brother and joined.
Why I Pursued Volleyball
Growing up, I was always a hockey player, but I started moving down in tiers.
At the same time, I was getting better and better at volleyball. Once I joined a club, I thought, “Yeah, I’m going to start playing volleyball and pursue it.”
My Childhood
I grew up loving golf as well.
I lived down the road from a golf course, so I pretty much played every day in the summer — that was my childhood.
Why Holland College Became a Fit for Me
My brother played here, so I thought I’d follow in his footsteps and play volleyball here as well.
I also like being close to friends and family.
Role Models in My Life
Definitely my father, for many reasons. He’s been a hero in my life.
I’d also say my brother, especially when it comes to volleyball.
My Favourite Hurricanes Memory
Just knowing that my brother wore the jersey first.
Leaders on the Team Beside Me
In my first year, I’d say it was Marcus Lapointe.
Now, it’s been Carson and Ty.
What Being a Hurricane Means
Knowing I can put the jersey on and continue playing a sport I’ve played for the last eight or nine years. It’s a dream come true.
Deciding to Stay on the Island
It’s nice that my family doesn’t have to drive three hours or more to watch a game.
They can always watch on YouTube, and when I’m here, they’re always supporting me.
My Future
I think I’ll be done with volleyball next year. I’m hoping to get shoulder surgery and then, hopefully, become a teacher.
