Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and care of our indoor and outdoor spaces in this hands-on role. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of the grounds maintenance team in conjunction with the maintenance manager, ensuring the overall cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our grounds. This position requires moderate to heavy physical activity. With over 200 acres, nearly 700 campsites, and 19 fixed roof accommodations, there is much to maintain and fortunately, we have the best grounds maintenance team in the industry. Shift work will be required. Ideal candidate will need to be able to think critically, logically and creatively about problem solving.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise Grounds Maintenance Team:
    1. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager & General Manager on prioritizing tasks.
    2. Lead, guide, and supervise a team of grounds maintenance staff.
    3. Schedule and assign daily tasks, ensuring timely completion of all activities.
    4. Provide training and support to team members as needed.
  2. Grounds Upkeep:
    1. Including, but not limited to, electrical outlet replacements, finding & patching leaks in waterlines and/or sewer lines.
    2. Attend service calls from campers during the camping season.
    3. Oversee the maintenance of walkways, roadways, parking lots, and other paved areas.
    4. Grass cutting and upkeep of campsites, including moving picnic tables, cleaning fire pits, raking, weeding, shoveling, and other duties as assigned.
    5. Coordinate with external vendors for services such as pest control, waste management, and equipment repair.
  3. Equipment and Appliance Management:
    1. Monitor and maintain ground maintenance equipment & certain appliances.
    2. Coordinate and/or execute repairs and schedule routine maintenance.
    3. Ensure that all equipment is used safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Good attitude
  • Basic wiring & plumbing knowledge
  • Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of groundskeeping equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Must have strong adaptability and problem solving skills
  • Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role is considered an asset.
  • We are willing to train for specific tasks, but fundamental understanding is necessary.
