Job Description
CLYDE RIVER GOLF CLUB SEEKS EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
Clyde River Golf Club in Clyde River, P.E.I. is seeking a golf course equipment mechanic. Working under the direction of the course owner and with a dedicated grounds crew, the mechanic will be responsible for carrying out regular maintenance and repairs to all course equipment and vehicles, monitoring the operating the operating condition of equipment, tracking and maintaining service records and supporting team members in proper equipment operation and course maintenance as required.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical problems of all equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, implements, golf cars and small engine equipment.
- Daily inspection,adjustment and sharping of cutting reels and rotary mowers. Perform scheduled services of all equipment and maintain records of machine time use, preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Order and maintain a suitable parts and supplies inventory.
- Maintain the shop and yard in an orderly and clean condition.
- Assist with the training of team members in the safe operation of equipment as needed.
- Engage actively with the course maintenance team, assisting with any course projects or repairs as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Experience as a light or heavy-duty mechanic, having completed training or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of the activities and procedures with respect to general golf course maintenance and the use of equipment and vehicles in maintaining large turf areas.
- A working knowledge of light and heavy construction equipment and automotive apparatus.
- Skill in the use of equipment repair tools and carrying out a variety of mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of the theory, care and operation of gasoline and diesel engines.
- Knowledge of the theory, care, grinding, sharpening, adjustment and maintenance of turf mowing equipment, blades and reels.
- Ability to work alone or in a team environment, in diagnosing mechanical problems, scheduling appropriate maintenance and carrying out other related duties and activities.
- Welding and fabrication skills an asset.
- A valid P.E.I.driver's licence.

This is a mid-April to mid-October position with some flexibility in the number of hours worked per week. Hourly salary based on qualifications and experience. Golf Shop, restaurant discounts and golf privileges included.
