The Holland College Welshmen Community Band, under the direction of Christine Blanchard, will present its annual holiday concert on Tuesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. in the Florence Simmons Performance Hall.
This concert will feature traditional Christmas music, along with popular holiday tunes such as “Baby, Please Come Home”, “Happy Holidays”, “Grown Up Christmas List”, and themes from the movie “A Home Alone Christmas”. Students from the School of Performing Arts, a partnership with Confederation Centre of the Arts, will also perform.
The Holland College Welshmen Community Concert Band is comprised of members from all walks of life – from university and college students to music graduates, community members, and many long-time musicians.
The band welcomes young people and provides a musically rich playing experience which emphasizes fine-tuning ensemble skills and playing expressively together.
There is no admission charge for this concert, instead, the Welshmen ask people to bring cash donations to support the band fund, and cash or food donations for the Upper Room Food Bank.
