AOTW | Morgan Hoskins & Tyler McBride Named Hurricanes Athletes of the Week

Women’s volleyball player Morgan Hoskins and men’s volleyball player Tyler McBride have been named the Holland Hurricanes Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 23, 2025.

Hoskins, a fifth-year outside/libero from Bishop’s Falls, NL, produced her best performances of the season across a pair of home-court matches this past weekend. The Hurricanes defeated the UKC Blue Devils 3-0 on Saturday, Nov. 22, and the Dalhousie Rams 3-0 on Sunday, Nov. 23, at the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Across both games, Hoskins totalled 19 kills, three assists, one ace, and nine digs, in addition to only having four errors and registering an average hitting percentage of .313.

Hoskins and the women’s volleyball Hurricanes conclude the first semester with one more home-court showdown against the UNBSJ Seawolves next Saturday, Nov. 29.

McBride, a fourth-year setter from Oakville, Ontario, had an excellent end to the first semester this past weekend, playing a key role in his team’s back-to-back 3-1 victories over the Dalhousie Rams at the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Over the weekend, McBride totalled 80 assists (47 on Sunday), three kills, two assists, four aces, 13 digs, and three total blocks. He continued his elite ways of driving the offence, while also contributing well defensively and at the service line.

McBride and the men’s volleyball Hurricanes will return to action in January 2026, beginning the second semester with a home-court doubleheader against the UNBSJ Seawolves on Saturday, Jan. 17, and Sunday, Jan. 18.
