The Canadian eMotorsports Network NASCAR Series begins the 2021 playoffs on Tuesday night with the U.S. Navy 250 at the Texas Motor Speedway; this is the first race of the Round-of-16.
The first 14 races of the season were used to determine the 16-drivers that would qualify for the playoffs. These drivers’ points have been reset to 2000, with the playoff points earned from race and stage wins during the regular season then added.
In 2020, Scott Bailey (Michigan, USA, Midwest Elite E-Racing) claimed the victory with Darcy Ford (PEI, Canada, Atlantic Motorsports), Chad Hyder (Ohio, USA, Team !Hazzah!), Corbin MacAulay (PEI, Canada, Red Dirt Racing) and Ryan Gibson (West Virginia, USA, Kobra Kai Racing) rounding out the top-five.
While the top-16 drivers have their sights on the series championship, the drivers that did not qualify for the playoffs will challenge to be the “best of the rest”.
Drivers ranked 17-32 will also have their points reset to 0, and battle over the final ten races to claim the 17th overall position at the end of the season.
The other two races that complete the Round-of-16 is Road America (May 25) and Bristol Motor Speedway (June 1). The playoff eligible drivers will then drop to 12.
