The 5’5” keeper has previously played at the Fredericton High School as well as on premier teams within the Fredericton District Soccer Association from the U11 to U18 levels.
In 2020, Spencer was named the top defensive player at the high school level and the Most Valuable Player in 2016.
Spencer will be studying in the Early Childhood Care & Education program at Holland College.
“My main reason for enrolling at Holland College was to play for the Hurricanes who are five-time Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) champions and have six appearances at nationals,” shared Spencer. “Holland College also offers the Early Childhood Care and Education program which is the first step in my academic journey of choice.”
Jonathan Vos, head coach of the Hurricanes, is happy to have Spencer making her way to Holland College this fall.
“We are looking forward to having Brianna join the ‘Canes. She is passionate and driven to succeed. Her attitude will play an impact in pushing this team forward.”
Spencer is said to be a strong communicator with excellent distribution skills. She remains calm under pressure and is typically someone that leads strongly by example.
The Hurricanes won the 2019 ACAA championship but were unable to defend in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic cancelling the season. They aim to chase their sixth conference title once the ACAA returns to play in the future.
