The 6’1” guard has recently suited up for the Three Oaks Senior High School AAA team where he was the 2021 Prince Edward Island School Athletic Association (PEISAA) Most Valuable Player. He also recently represented PEI on the U18 team and in 2018 was the Basketball PEI Player of the Year.
“I decided to commit to Holland College because of the great basketball team along with their academic programs,” shared Rossiter. “I will be taking the Sport and Recreation Management program and look forward to getting started this fall.”
Rossiter is described as a player with strong shooting and playmaking abilities.
“We’re thrilled to have Spencer as a member of the Hurricanes,” shared ‘Canes head coach, Josh Whitty. “He has had a remarkable high-school career at Three Oaks and will be counted on to contribute with our program from day one.”
The men’s basketball Hurricanes are seven-time Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) champions (2013-2019) and four-time Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) national medalists (2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018). In 2020 the team fell in the semi-finals while the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rossiter is counting down the days until he can step onto the floor of the Holland College McMillan Centre for Community Engagement.
“Fans can expect a high-energy basketball team and hopefully a lot of wins along the way.”
